Quebec holds on for 10 6 victory despite late drive from Val d'Or Hockey News

Nobody could blame Raffaele D'Orso, Alexandre Vincent or Loic Lacasse for thinking they should have stayed home Friday night.

The goaltending trio allowed sixteen goals, though Lacasse escaped with a win as the Quebec Remparts outgunned the Val-d'Or Foreurs 10-6 Friday night in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The sixteen goals is the highest single-game total in the QMJHL this season _ an unexpected result for the Remparts (3-4-0-0), who entered Friday with a league-low 17 goals in six games. Brent Aubin led the way with a hat trick as Quebec won its second straight.

Blown out over the first two-and-a-half periods, the Foreurs (5-2-1-1) made a late drive, scoring three goals in the last ten minutes of the third period.

Elsewhere in QMJHL action Saturday, it was: Chicoutimi 4, Rouyn-Noranda 1; Drummondville 6, St. John's 5 (SO); and Lewiston 5, Cape Breton 4.

At Quebec, Joey Ryan, Kelsey Tessier, Roman Bashkirov, Kenzie Sheppard, Felix Petit, Ruslan Bashkirov and Maxim Suave all had singles for the Remparts.

Brad Marchand scored two for the Foreurs while Mathieu Roy, Maxime Levesque, Sebastien Laferriere and Marc Andre Cote had one apiece.

D'Orso stopped 22 shots, allowing six goals, before being replaced by Vincent in the third period. Vincent made 18 saves and allowed four goals for the Foreurs.

Lacasse made 38 stops for Quebec.

Sagueneens 4, Huskies 1

At Chicoutimi, Que., Derek Famulare scored twice as the Sagueneens downed Rouyn-Noranda.

David Desharnais and Francois Chabot added for Chicoutimi (3-5-2-1).

Adam Jourdain scored in the final minute for the Huskies (4-6-0-0).

Voltigeurs 6, Fog Devils 5 (SO)

At St. John's, Marc-Olivier Vachon put away the shootout winner as Drummondville handed the Fog Devils their fifth straight loss.

Tomas Svoboda added two for the Voltigeurs (6-4-0-0). Vachon also scored one in regulation, along with Etienne Bellavance-Martin and Trevor Mock.

Mario Kempe, Wesley Welcher, Ryan Graham, Tim Spencer and Nick Layton countered for St. John's (2-5-0-1).

Maineiacs 5, Screaming Eagles 4

At Lewiston, Maine, Stefano Giliati and Dave Taylor scored two goals each as the Maineiacs beat Cape Breton.

Chad Denny added one for Lewiston (5-3-0-0).

Dean Ouellet, Cam Fergus and Brendon MacDonald replied for the Screaming Eagles (5-5-0-0).
